My name is Cody Soto, and I am a student at Baylor University studying journalism and public relations. I am also a marketing and management minor. This fall, it will be my third year as a full-time student in Waco.

 

I currently work for the Baylor Lariat, the university’s official school newspaper, as a sports writer. The sports I cover are: football, men’s basketball, volleyball, softball and men’s and women’s tennis. Austin, Arlington and Norman, Oklahoma are a few places I have gone to cover stories. I will work for Baylor Athletic Communications in the fall.

 

I enjoy writing, but more than that I love interacting with people. Communicating with others is crucial to the journalism field, and my job has allowed me to interact with many different, interesting individuals.

 

After graduation in December 2016, I want to go into sports public relations and work for either the NCAA or a Division I college athletic program. Although that is a year and a half away, I have great trust in God. He will lead me where I am most successful.
